Bernal Hill

Bernal Heights is the neighborhood that Z and I call home.  There is a huge unleashed dog park called Bernal Heights Hill and from the top you can see the whole city-scape and bay. It's quite beautiful and makes for a great place to view the 4th of July fireworks from. We also live near Precita Park which is a nice bonus because it is never as crowded as Dolores Park would be. Living here on the hill has been fun, but I'm ready to explore different neighborhoods in the City. It's a bit of a challenge to find a place that is at a reasonable price that will except a morbidly obese pug as a co-tenant, but I am sure that we will eventually find something. Below are some past photos of Z and I walking around our little hood:
The end of the month is usually the time when you see random items on the sidewalk.

I've been experimenting more with pinning my bangs up or to the side. I am toying with the idea of growing them out so that I can get them re-shaped/trimmed properly, but every time they reach my temples I get the urge to grab some scissors and cut them again. It's hard not to do so, but I guess I am going to have to work on my will power. Julie from Orchid Grey's post about growing out your bangs definitely inspired and encouraged me keep going, so I'll see how it goes this summer.

Polka Dots and Mermaid Hair

When I was a little girl, my mom used to try all these different hair styles on me. I went from having long straight hair to permed bangs (yes! my bangs were the only part that was permed so I looked similar to a French poodle) to the typical Asian short bob with bangs to a boyish pixie-do. I won't ruin your evening by posting these awful photos, but let's just say that my mom has excellent blackmailing material if she would ever like to do so. Now that I've reclaimed my hair, I just want to grow it long like a mermaid.  It's taken sometime to achieve this, but my hair is finally long enough! I can go out in public with my hair as a shirt? Sweet and scandalous.

Pinned Bangs, Wavy Hair

Outfit Details: Blue Printed Dress (UO), Lipstick: NARS in Fire Down Below

Warm weather equals pinning the bangs back. It’s been unusually warm in the city this past week and it’s nice to see the sun again. It is not even as hot as the usual temperatures in San Diego, so this makes me wonder how the heck I survived Mexico-landia for so many years. Walking around in the Mission with the warm weather, drinking Ginger Beer and Parrot Coconut Juice, and seeing the mariachi bands play, makes me do a double take. Am I back in Tan Diego? I want more Mango con chile, por favor.

Mermaid Hair

I recently chopped off  trimmed my hair since the ends were practically dead. I was sitting in the hair stylist's chair and nonchalantly told him to "go ahead" and cut it off. I did not really think about how I would miss braiding my hair or putting it up in a messy bun to rush off to do whatever errands needed tending to. So now, this pathetic post is dedicated to how much I miss my mermaid hair and to simultaneously show the world how crazy I am.

There will be no after picture with my current haircut. You may just imagine a little Asian girl with short hair and blunt bangs (aka my school pictures for grades 1-12.)
